Meet our delicious range of Very Superior Old Cheese

V.S.O.C. is made to the original Gouda recipe in Holland, using only the best Dutch milk. To make a full wheel, we use no less than 110 liters of milk. After the traditional production process, the cheese is matured on wood in our spedal ageing room for no less than 1, 2 and even 3 years. Throughout this time, it is regularly hand-waxed and turned until it reaches V.S.O.C. quality standard.

The flavour of our V.S.O.C. cheeses is nothing short of unique. It has all the colour, taste and aroma you expect from a classic vintage Gouda, but an extra hint of sweetness and the subtle crunch of salt crystals make it exceptionally robust and irresistible. Our master cheesemakers ensure that, despite its age, V.S.O.C. Black Label is always easy to slice. That makes it the perfect cheese for any time of day. Delicious in a sandwich, ideal in the kitchen to bring real flavour to your dishes and remarkably good with a glass of red wine. In fact, you can enjoy V.S.O.C. Black Label all day long!

V.S.O.C. White Label

Give your palate a taste sensation with V.S.O.C. White Label: a goat’s cheese with a flavour more intense than you’ve ever experienced before. The combination of full-bodied cheese with the subtle crunch of salt crystals makes every bite something to savour. Perfect with a fresh salad or a fine white wine. Or, for that ultimate moment of indulgence, try V.S.O.C. White Label with a glass of champagne.

V.S.O.C. Black Label

V.S.O.C. Blue Label

Meet our V.S.O.C. Blue Label: a naturally 20 weeks ripened cheese with Italian characteristics. The Tradizionale Proosdy V.S.O.C Blue Label Cheese is exclusive from Holland. The slightly piquant and sweet cheese tastes delicious on bread, in warm and cold dishes or as a snack while having a drink. We recommend to combine Blue Label with a remarkably good glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir!

V.S.O.C. Red Label

Meet our V.S.O.C. Red Label: a naturally 40 weeks matured cheese with Italian characteristics. We made sure to combine the best of two worlds: the nutty and fine-aged flavour profile of Italian cheeses with the smooth texture and flavour of an aged Gouda cheese, which makes it easier to slice, melt or shred. This cheese is unique in his kind due to his low fat percentage and therefore delicious on a sandwich, ideal in the kitchen to bring some Italian flavour to your dishes.

V.S.O.C. Gold Label

It is not without reason we named our cheese Very Superior Old Cheese. The world’s most prestigious competition: ‘The World Cheese Awards’ have praised them for their Very Superior taste! No other price would have fit our V.S.O.C. Gold Label better than the World Cheese’s Gold Award. We leave our Gouda cheeses longer on the wooden shelves to ripen. The extra care and time our cheese gets result is a beautiful crumbly texture, a deep yellow/orange colour and a fine structure of even more salt crystals. Although naturally matured for at least 2 years, this cheese retains a nice creamy mouthfeel and an excellent taste with hints of roasted nuts and caramel.

V.S.O.C. Platinum Label

After winning a Gold award for our V.S.O.C. Gold Label, we wondered what would happen when we keep our cheese on the shelves for more years? The result, a cheese with an even stronger taste profile for those who love deep sweet notes of butterscotch. Since the cheese dries out more, you get a very crumbly and flaky cheese full of salt crystals. Because of the necessary time and care this masterpiece takes, you do not find a cheese like this around much. Meet our V.S.O.C. Platinum, a rare cheese which you will find worth the wait.
